UpCurrentFM Functional Medicine Provider

Kristin Timpy,

MSN, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, IFMCP

Her Story:

Kristin has always been passionate about treating the whole patient. From her start as a nurse working in cardiology in NJ and NYC almost 20 years ago, she focused on preventative medicine and cardiac risk stratification, especially in the area of women's heart health. Upon relocating to North Carolina in 2016, Kristin decided to put her cardiology experience to use in Primary Care. Although she thoroughly enjoyed caring for countless families over 5 years, she became frustrated during the COVID pandemic when she was not able to treat her patients in the way that they deserved. Her desire to diagnose and treat the root cause of her patient's symptoms coupled with her passion for educating her patients on the importance of lifestyle modifications led her to Functional Medicine.

Education:

  • Kristin is certified in Functional Medicine via The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM)

  • Board Certified Adult-Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner via American Academy of Nurse Practitioners

  • Master of Science in Nursing from Monmouth University in NJ
